Welcome to Wireless 101, a foundational course designed by the Telecommunications Education Center (TEC) to introduce the core concepts, systems, and terminology that support modern wireless networks.

Wireless infrastructure underpins nearly every aspect of today’s economy—from mobile communications and broadband access to public safety, transportation, and emerging technologies. This course provides a structured, accessible introduction to how wireless networks work, why they are designed the way they are, and how key technologies have evolved over time.

No prior technical experience is required.

Who This Course Is For

This course is intended for:

• Individuals new to the wireless or telecommunications industry

• Professionals in non-technical or adjacent roles who work alongside wireless teams

• Learners seeking foundational knowledge before progressing to more advanced coursework

The emphasis is on conceptual understanding, not hands-on engineering or field procedures.

This course was developed in collaboration with industry subject matter experts and academic partners and reflects current wireless practices as of 2026.
